99+ Roof Overhead Sunroof Control Console

I tried to make the title easily found in a search.
I have found a couple threads on using the old switch board in the new console, but I'm not really into that. I don't like the way it looks, at all. I actually can't believe guys hack the lens up.
The old (96-98) relay module is separate from the switches, while the (99-02) relay module is built into the switch board.
Whether you cut and splice the wiring, or you choose to re-pin the connectors, the swap is even easier than retrofitting the old board to the new console- and no lens cutting.

I assume 96-98 wire colors are the same, and 99-02 colors are the same. That being said, all I can give you is what colors my '97 has, and what the '00 donor has.

The '97 has the following wires coming up the a-pillar-
Blue/yellow- This was for the old map lights.
While/red- Switched power.
Solid blue- Constant +12v.
White/black- As always; ground.

I don't know why the '97 has a constant +12v, because the sunroof doesn't have constant power, and that's all the wire feeds. Anyway, since I was adding 99+ rear quarter trims at the same time, I just used that constant to power the rear 12v receptacle. Not sure where that wire is fed/fused from, but when I find a '97 FSM wire diagram, I'll find out.

The '00 has the following wires coming up the a-pillar-
Blue/yellow- Constant power to vanity light.
Blue/yellow- Constant power to map lights(larger gauge).
Blue/Red- Switched power.
White/black- Again, ground.

All you have to do to swap your 96-98 overhead console/sunroof control to the 99-02 console is as follows-
Old blue/yellow map light wire splices to blue/yellow vanity light(if adding 99+ visors), and blue/yellow new map light wire.
*If not adding vanity light, you can re-pin the old map light terminal right into the new blue connector to feed the new map lights.*
Old white/red switched power splices to new blue/red wire.
*This can also be re-pinned into the new blue connector*
Grounds get spliced- or re-pinned.
That's it. You can do the swap by re-pinning 5 wires(Switched power, map light, and 3 grounds)!
Hope this helps people in the future [emoji1360]

I had the luxury of doing the wiring with my headliner out, but it could be done just as easily with it in- it just wouldn't look OEM like if it's done with the headliner out.

I actually re-pinned the white/red switched power into the new connector- where the blue/red was.

I re-pinned the grounds, but made a splice to add the vanity ground-

Throw the old relay module in the garbage, and enjoy your new console and single-switch sunroof operation [emoji1360]

Here's a video-

And in case I haven't made it 100% clear-
You can do the 99+ console swap with no splicing. All you have to do is re-pin 1 ground to the motor connector, 2 grounds to the console connector, 1 switched power, and 1 map light wire. No splicing required at all.
Splicing was only required to add the vanity light.

Currently in the process of doing this. You wouldn't have a diagram of the colored wires you repinned or spliced together?
