It looks like you are stocking up on yota's do you know something the rest of us don't? I would love to be in your position, but how do you decide what 1 to drive?

I didn't start out to be a collector...but yup, I guess I am

Currently, the one I drive the most is the '87. I love the open air feeling and... the double takes.
I had a guy over the weekend stop me in the grocery store parking lot to inquire about the truck.
"Aren't you worried about getting a ticket for no doors?"
I told him you don't see the cops writing tickets to Wrangler owners for no doors...He just looked at me funny...

I had a 96 SR5 a while back, but sold it to get the T100. I regret doing that, especially since the next door neighbor bought it and I see it every day.
I am tired of pining for my truck, so I am replacing it!

BTW, the '97 in my sig is my Wifes, so I am not allowed to modify it, wheel it, heck, I am hardly allowed to drive it! When it was time to replace the shocks, I talked her into the 99 spring upgrade. She can't tell the difference, but I can.

As to the tranny, I discussed with the shop manager the transmission and pink milkshake. He said that the fluid looked fine to him. ( got a new radiator anyway, so that is suspect ) 1st gear would hardly move the truck. Once 2nd gear took over, all other gears worked fine. It was replaced with an LKQ used unit with about 85K miles on it.

I offered him $4K He said he would talk to the boss in this morning and let me know....

I did end up with the truck last week...(fathers day thread)
The temp started climbing while sitting idle with the air on for about 30 minutes Friday night. Put in a new thermostat over the weekend. Since the truck had been sitting for a while before I bought it, I went ahead and moved the levers for the heat at the dash and the rear heater. Guess what? Diluted pink milkshake! Now that I have opened those valves and circulated that crappy fluid, I need to do a rad. power flush to get it all cleaned out.
At 112K miles, I knew the tranny shouldn't have gone kaput.

I just wanted to confirm the initial diagnosis with you guys

Well at least you know the transmission died from the milkshake and not being abused. I would go ahead and do the transmission cooler bypass if you are planning to keep the truck for awhile. I replaced my radiator as a preemptive and still bypassed.

Yup, that is the plan. Gotta find the paperwork for the last one I ordered. It wasn't that long ago. I did all the research then and got the best price. Don't want to do it all over again
