99 SR5 Highlander - Suspension Recommendation

Hello,

I have a 1999 SR5 (Highlander Edition), I DO NOT want to lift the vehicle.

What is the best most highly recommended suspension combo that would be an upgrade from stock?

Bilstein HD?

I think the closest thing you are going to find for springs would be OME 880's and 906's. But those will give you a 1.5-2" lift. I don't think there are any beefier stock height suspension systems out there. At least I haven't heard of one.

I just put Bilstein HD's on all 4 corners of my 1999 ltd and love the ride now. Huge improvement. I loaded the truck up today with a bunch of wood and stuff and it still handled really well with all the weight in it.

OP, if you don't want to lift it, but replacement rear springs and Bilstein HD's. (front springs will be fine). Throw some poly bushings at the sway bars and steering rack, changing out your LBJ's and OTRE's, you'll be set for the next 100,000 miles.

What is the reason for replacing the rear springs? Sag?

Correct, replace them due to sag. I would just replace them with a new set of '99 tall springs if you're not looking for a lift.

At 110k miles on mine I simply went with stock OEM shocks and the taller coils which was incredibly cheap in '04 and ran me like $400 for the whole thing.
I've got 67k on the suspension now and still rides as stock as my mom's '99 Limited with 90k on it.
