99 talls vs. 881 or TRD

I haven't been able to get a solid answer for a front lift question I have. I also posted it in "Rickashay’s OME vs. TRD Tundra/LC Review" which compiles a boatload of 1-2" suspension lift info.

Anyways I have a 2 part question that pertains to my setup shown below:
Front: 99 talls on 5100s-lowest perch and spring seat is not upside down (3rd gen 4Runner Model 5100s)
Rear: 906 coils with OEM shocks
Measurements Hub to fender are (I have an 02 w/ limited flares):
Front: 22"
Rear: 22"

1) I have read of a few people that report a 21" measurement in the front using tundra 5100s and the tundra trd progressive coils. Why did I end up an inch higher?
2) My 99 talls provide nice lift when paired with the 3rd gen 4Runner 5100s but my nose definitely likes to dive upon medium-hard braking. Would this be different with the TRD progressive coils or OME 881s?

I was really after the 21" measurement in the front and was surprised when I got 22". It has had probably 1000 miles to settle.

My nose dip decreased going from 99 tall's/OEM struts to Tundra TRD's/5100's & I'm on the 2nd perch. It's back now with the Shrockworks FB & Tundra TBU.

I am considering trying the Tundra TRD's with these 5100s. Do you think it is possible that the Tundra TRD's on the bottom perch could net less lift than the 99 tall's? Only modification needed would be to switch to tundra top plates I believe.

If the Tundra TRD's will bring it down 1 inch and also decrease the nose dive that would be perfection.

I prefer the rear about an inch higher than the front for both the aggressive look and for loading it down with ppl/gear/towing.

Just looking for opinions on here because I was shocked that the 99 tall's netted more lift than the tundra trds.

TRD tundra coils on the lowest perch will net you about 1.5" lift. If i remember right 99 coils on a 2002 can net almost 2" lift.

I will take your word for it considering the results I achieved.
Any chance swapping out the OEM rear shocks to 3rd gen specific 5100s would bring the back up 0.5-1 inch? I know technically speaking just changing rear shocks should not result in any lift but I have seen it happen in the 4th gen forum when people switched to 5100s.

Yeah never heard of it changing ride height on any vehicle I have ever worked on. To get that ride height your looking for I would throw in some LC 7 wraps. Toytec superflex would work also. But you would need some 4th gen specific 5100's or LC shocks to match the larger coil.

I just drove into work & I had really no nose dive when moderately hitting the brakes at red lights or stop signs. Only when pressing the pedal hard does it dip.

I'm not sure about the TRD first perch vs 99. If you have old 99's vs new TRDs you actually might gain 1/2" of lift. If you buy used TRD's they might be the same height & a softer ride.

But in my opinion your T4R looks good, keep the lift & go with used TRD's & 5100.

Thanks for all the input. Planning to stick with my setup while I service some other things over the next few months. New tie rods and ball joints need to go in as mine are likely original. Except LBJs replaced under recall.
