A bit different of a question...

Hello all, after lurking for a while I have finally decided to join the fray. And I need some advice. I have had a 3rd gen limited for over a year now and love the truck. But in the last while the rear suspension has started to show less and less dampening and I am starting to experience a metallic sounding rattling noise from the back. I have checked the rear for anything unusual and could not find anything (no loose bolts, no cracked welds, spare is on tight, etc...) so I am assuming the sound is related to the punched shocks. Now here comes the tricky part - I am not looking to lift the truck but I do travel off road quite a bit, nothing hardcore but I also carry two kdx 200's (dirt bikes) on a hitch mount a lot during the summer over a ton of logging roads. For less squat, I was thinking rancho 9000xl's coupled with Firestone ride rite air helpers would help give a better ride with more clearance on the rear. Any other ideas?

From my "limited" experience. I had the same problem. I installed the Airlift 1000 system (like it) and I would recommend upgrading the rear springs, 99 tall springs for a little more lift in the back and still be able to use stock height shocks. From what I've read you don't want to get longer shocks if that's what your considering coupled with older springs I think the ride will be compromised. I would recommend going with Bilstien over Rancho IMHO. Oh and the Airlift works great at leveling the ride or even raising a half inch or so. Hope that helps...:welcome:

I have seen hitch mount bike carries, but for ONE, not TWO, got any pics to share since pics are almost a requirement for us to be jealous ( I am bikeless )
