A/C Help

I've got a 2000 limited with the digital AC Controls. They go from cold to 65 to ??. Anyway, when I have it on "cold" it will actually blow out cool air. However, if I go to 65 it blows out hot air even with the A/C button selected.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? Does the A/C system just need recharging or do I have a bigger problem?

I got this car because of it's reliability, but within the year I've had to replace the front shocks, just ordered the new junction block because my door locks stopped working, and now this. I really hope this is a simple fix.

Shocks are a standard replacement item but the electrical issues are something else entirely. It sounds like the control module is malfunctioning not the actual a/c. I've never had issues with mine fortunately, that unit is around $800-900 new :wow:

okay... there is a bunch to be discussed here/// first please explain more of ur situation and what u experience...

With the exception of having my digital AC controls set on "Cold", it puts out hot air. I can have the AC button pressed, auto, you name it... the next step up from cold is 65, and its definitely not 65. It goes from cold to hot. That's all of what I'm experiencing. Not sure what else would help diagnose the problem?

well if its continuously blowing cold on cold and stops when u turn it to 65 i would doubt its an a/c or refrigerant problem... what settings as far as feet or face or window do u have this set on when having problem? also is the rear heat turned off? is it random or intermitten or all the time? during cold or hot weather? a lot of variables could help explain problem...

It's on every setting. Doesn't matter if its just feet, feet and vents, defrost and feet, just vents... if the unit is set on anything other than "Cold", hot air is coming out. It is cold here now. I noticed it a week or so ago. It has been pretty cold here lately so it hadn't bothered me, but today was in the mid 40s so having heat blasting out was annoying.
