A/C Issue

I have a 2003 4Runner, Sport Edition. Yesterday it hit the 150K mark and amazingly enough, the a/c died! As if on cue!!! Anyway, we were in Phoenix for the day coming from the mountains north of Phoenix. The a/c worked great as usual. When we were getting ready to come back I noticed that the fan speed was not very high even though I had it on "hi". The temp. seemed fine. As were started driving back north the fan speed kept going down and down and down until, IT DIED. I tried turning it off, having it on air only, nothing came out of the vents. We tried turning up the temp to about 75 and still nothing came out. I'm not sure where to start looking first. I don't know if it's a switch, a fuse (I would think if a fuse went out then it would died immediately, not a slow, agonizing death) or fan motor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I would like to have some idea on what the problem could be if I can't fix it myself then have to take in to the dealership.

G.D.
