A/C lights blinking

The A/C and recirc lights start blinking on the A/C controls shorty after turning it on. I'm assuming it may need a charging but wanted to see if you guys have seen this and what it actually means. Any help would be much appreciated.

Mine does the same, but off and on. I was going to have Toyota take a look at it the next time that I am in for service. I'm afraid that it will be working when I take it in, and they simply say that there is nothing to fix.

Let me know what ends up happening with yours.

Mine does the same. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. I know if it gets low on refrigerant it will do that to save the compressor so that's why i'm assuming it needs a charge.

I got the compressor to come on last night to try to charge it but didnt stay on long enough. It did start taking refregerant but not enough before it went into the blinking stage again.

I'm going to try to bypass the low pressure sensor to force the compressor on to get it to take the charge this weekend.

Mine is going to the shop within the next week anyways, so I'm not touching it. It's not like I need the air on right now anyways.

I get a beeping when I turn mine to 4Low as well. I never noticed this before, so I'm going to have them check this out at the same time.

Sure enough, low refrigerant. Gave it a charge and all is good.
Damn Toyota wanted to charge 50 bucks just to look.
