Whatever it is that's causing it to overheat (which I agree the fan clutch is a good place to start), you need to nip this in the bud fast - your A/C is not the priority anymore (and will most likely be fixed by default anyways when you fix the overheating). Everytime your engine gets above normal temp, you're risking warping heads and damaging gaskets among other things which all could be in the thousands to repair. It won't take too many of those overheating sessions (even if it's not going up all the way into the red) before it does major damage.
