A/C Questions

A friend brought over his '99 4Runner to get his AC working. I put some dye and refrigerant into the system and found it spewing from the entire lower left side of the condenser. All of the connections were fine using my powerful UV light.

He wanted to try WalMart's $25 can of stop leak. I advised against it, but he insisted. It didn't work...dah. I talked him into ordering a new OEM condenser and drier from Rockauto.com.

I've done some AC work on Jeeps (sorry, I didn't mean to swear) and Fords, but not on Toyotas. I replaced both the low and high side Schrader valves, while we're waiting for parts.

I need to know how much oil to add to this system with a new drier and condenser, and the type (I believe it's PAG 46). And, the recommended low and high side pressures at about 80 degrees ambient. I will use my vacuum pump and manifold gauges on it once it's buttoned up.

And yes, I've been searching but got bored so I thought I'd run it by you guys. If you know off the top of your head, or post a link where I can get some specs on this vehicle, and/or send along some tips/suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Edit: I found this for those who didn't have answers but are interested: http://napabeltshose.com/downloads/...pdf&folder=news&view=napa_hc&location_id=1078
