I HAVE A 2007 SPORT V8 AND THE EVERY DAY WHEN I TURN ON THE A/C ON I FEEL A THUMP. NOT LOUD OR ANYTHING BUT I DO FEEL IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THEN IF TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON IT DOES NOT DO IT ANYMORE. ONLY IF THE RUNNNER COOLS OFF ALL THE WAY. IS THIS THE NORM

Yup! very common. I actually asked the same thing on this board about a year ago b/c I was going to take it back to toyota for them to look at.

It is normal and something you may as well get used to.

Congrats on the new truck.

This is the sound of your compressor turning on when you push the "A/C" button. Your engine has to work a wee bit harder when turning the compressor......which steals a few ponies. No big deal, though, as all cars with A/C or defrosters probably do this.
