I'm curious if my evap or the expansion valve is the issue. I've evac'ed the freon, then recharged the system but I can't seem to get the a/c vent temps down to 40deg. Yesterday the outside air temp was 97deg and the vent temps were around 70deg or higher regardless of hwy or city driving.
Is this a sign of the evap perhaps being dirty or the expansion valve needing to be replaced? I have no a/c system faults or anything, just warm vent temps.
The compressor cycles normally but I do notice that the vent temps get warmer when the compressor is shut down. So the vent temp is always cycling as well, but only few degrees.
The condenser up front is new and clean, and the cabin air filter is also clean. I have no idea what the evap looks like though and getting to it is a royal PITA unless I can drill a hole then use a borescope.
