Operating coolant temps after burping coolant system

I have an 04 4runner v6 4x4 w/192k that I replaced the Evap Core due to it leaking, I didn't replace the heater core because it was still in pristine condition with no veins or fins damaged. I reinstalled everything and went with ZEREX RED instead of the Toyota pink. I filled the coolant and burped the system, now with the car at idle is at 185*F and about 186.6 to 190.4 while running with A/C or without A/C at an ambient temp of about 92*; I get my readings through my torque app pro. I remember before the repairs the car was running at 175*F to 180* with or without the A/C on. Is it possible that the cooling system still has air pockets? I'm looking too much into this? Or am I just causing my self to be paranoid with the coolant temps? Any help or feed back is appreciated

I have an 04 V6 as well. My temp are usually at 182-190 for normal city driving. I will get 193-195 at highway speeds or hard pulls.
175-180 seems low since the thermostat opens at 182 I believe.
I think you should be fine.

Thanks for the input [MENTION=388921]phatcheeks[/MENTION] I appreciate the response, I just want to make sure that its running in tip top shape and do not want it overheating since I will be hitting some dessert trails this weekend.
 
I just replaced damn near everything. WP, Radiator, most of the coolant hoses, thermostat, and the slightly higher pressure TRD radiator cap and I'm averaging 180-186 in normal use with or without AC. A long highway trip with AC in Texas summer heat got me up to about 190 and relatively quickly back down once I stopped moving.

I do also have an secondary transmission cooler to help manage those temps, so maybe that's helped remove a heat source as well.
 
While driving to the store today for some reason i was tempted to feel how hot the rad hoses where and found the top hose very hot and the lower hose to the thermo stat cool. Is that an indication that the thermostat is bad? Or that there is still air in the system? Or is that how it should be?
 
Assuming the lower hose is "radiator out" it should be cooler than "radiator in/engine out", the radiator cools the coolant and thus the rad out hose should feel cooler.

Okay that makes sense. Hypothetical question: the reservoir has coolant to the full line. If after driving it one day, i park it and lets say the next day i see the reservoir low before i leave work, is that normal?

If you just refilled the system and are still working to remove air pockets, maybe. If it happens regularly or you didn't just drain & refill it and you're either burning it (head gasket) or leaking it somewhere.

Yes that's normal. When coolant gets hot it expands and goes into the reservoir. When it cools down it gets sucked back into the cooling system thus showing a lower level in the reservoir.
If thats not happening and the level keeps dropping or the reservoir is over flowing then you have an issue.
 
Just thought I should update, I was more than likely over thinking the whole coolant issue. Since the fix I have ran my 4Runner and the temps stay between 185* and 190.4 depending on the weather, it does not go passed 190.4* even with the A/C on. I did my spark plug change last week, it seems to be the 3rd time my 4Runner has ever seen a spark plug change since last know change was about 11 or 12 years ago, no lie. I checked the cylinder walls with a borescope and found the cylinders to be in great condition for 192,950 miles. No coolant or white visible at all. Thank you all for your help!
