A few maintenance questions.....

My 07 v8 Sport has 22k miles and I just got it a couple of weeks ago. There are absolutely no maintenance records for this car. Got it from non- Toyota place and I'm not handy with trucks doing maintenance myself.

I have an appt Monday morning at my local Toyota dealership and I want a few things checked and changed such as ......

oil change
4x4 service
Driveshaft and propeller shaft lube
Retorque of driveshaft screw (whatever that is)
Check brakes (since the non-Toyota dealership replaced them and resurfaced the rotors - but don't trust them and when stopping it is a bit jerky but maybe its because they are so new.

I've only drove it for 1k miles.

I'm approaching this as if the prior owner never did much of anything just to be safe and i'm anal about my autos being well maintained and running properly.

What else should I be asking them to check or change on Monday?

Also let me add importantly that it is running very well and there are no glaring issues to identify.

Just being proactive.

be sure they call you with a quote before you authorize any specific items

and be sure you are sitting down when they call !

Hard to believe the brakes had to be changed at 22k. My 03 has 66k miles and still on original brakes. Most of these 4th gens go 60-100k miles before needing brakes.

I would just give it an overall lube job (oil, gear boxes, drive shaft) with a good FULL synthetic lubricant. Replace air filter and cabin filter too.
All this could be DIY and save yourself a few bills...
New brakes at 22K????

Cancel the dealership appt and find a reputable independent shop. Have you checked toyotaowners.com to see if there's any info there?
