A little help

When i purchased my 05 4runner sport a few months ago, i noticed that the backlights on my radio and climate control seem to flicker, as though the bulbs are going out. It only seems to happen on the one half (see picture below). Does anyone know what could be the problem and how i might be able to fix it?

Probably need a new bulb. When I got my 4runner, one side was out. The bulbs were cheap (~$3 at local dealer I think), so I went ahead and replaced both. Pretty simple to replace, and cheap, so I'd start there.

Thanks! I think ill go by the stealership on the way home today.

its the neo wedge 4 bulb. you only need to remove the hvac panel, not the whole thing. you do have to tug hard the clips are tight if its never benn done before. heres what the bulbs look like.get them from the dealer, no thers including leds will be bright enough. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/problems-warranty-issues/6782-backlight-info-panel-flickering-2.html

Thanks Chaz! That link has been incredibly helpful because i honestly had no idea where to start to remove the HVAC panel.

Mine has been like that for awhile. It seems to be worse in the cold. I will change the bulb when it goes out completely. :D

Happened to me yesterday, tapped on the climate controls cluster and it came back. Like Mark, I'll wait till it goes out completely before relpacing it.
