A new Montero?

Looks like Mitsubishi is going to bring back the Montero for the NA market. Hopefully they can give some appeal to what has to be one of the worst model lineups on sale right now. I'm guessing they will simply bring over the overseas Pajero Sport with a facelift and some competitive engines. Looks Like Mitsubishi Is Bringing The Montero Name Back I still stare with fascination whenever I see a 94-97 Montero SR. Easily one of my must-haves with the Mitsubishi 3.5(they sounded killer at the Dakar back in the day), Superselect transfer case, factory rear air locker, and aggressive looks.

They aren't doing too hot because their current lineup from the past eight years or so has totally sucked. Compare their 2015 lineup to their 1995 lineup and you realize how it seems like they have mostly given up. Then again, you could probably make similar comparisons with most Japanese automakers.
