I am the original owner of a 2002 4Runner. From reading the posts over the years, I decided it would be in my best interests to have a new radiator installed to avoid the possibility of the famed "pink milkshake". I have my local dealership do all the work on my 4 runner. Thankfully the owner of the dealership is a personal friend and he is very good to me when the bill comes . As it turns out, it was discovered that the radiator was starting to leak in several places but the leaks were so small that no dripping reached the pavement. While on the lift to change the radiator, it was also discovered that there was a leak in two gaskets. The gaskets leaks were so minor that the oil did not drip on the pavement.
I am sending this post to thank all the persons who post all the information to keep the less mechanically inclined aware of issues that will arise with regard to properly maintaining a vehicle.
As a aside note, my 4 runner is over maintained and I get asked by strangers at least once a month if I would sell the 4 runner. NO CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING!
