A penny for your thoughts on "dry" after market air filters...

Hello, I just did the deckplate mod and want to make sure I am doing the best I can at filtering the extra air the intake is providing. AmSoil doesnt make one for the 3.4 V6?!! A friend reccomends the PureFlow but those are extinct. 99% sure I do not want to go K&N so... I think there is a high end dry filter out there I am forgetting about. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any OEM style replacement filter should flow more air than your engine is ever going to need (unless you have S/C with a lot more boost than the TRD blower). Since performance is limited by engine design (displacement, heads, cams, etc. - not the airbox) I'd go for whatver filter provides the best, safest filtering. I'm much more concerned about longevity and reliability than I am non-existent HP gains from high-performance aftermarket filters.

What about the bonus of just being able to clean it and not replace it every....however long a filter lasts. That's a cost bonus?

Fram works good and just replace it every other oil change. Like said before you will not gain anything it and high end filter. I used to like K&N but threw them all out years ago. Deck plate mod just makes more noise and maybe less MPG

You can buy a WIX filter for ~$20 at any parts store. WIX is endorsed and distributed by AMSOIL.
It's what I use with my supercharger/deckplate mod.

I'm surprised AEM hasn't been mentioned. I'm pretty sure they were the originators of the dry-flow filter. They should have a drop in filter too

I have used WIX exclusively in everything from lawn mowers to BMW's since the 1970's. NAPA sells WIX and they are just down the road from me so I get all my filters there. You can't improve our V6 with a filter, you can only screw it up.
