A question of clearcoat screw ups

I already posted a topic in the dealer section about what they did with my 4Runner, but long and short of it is they dryed it with a dirty rag(s) and there are scratches all over the clearcoat.

They are willing to fix it up by "buffing" it out. . .what do you guys think?

Is this a good idea?

Will it compromise the paint by doing this?

I regularly zymol my truck, so I've already done a once over after they butchered the paint and it looks a little better, but still has noticeable swirls and scratches in the sun.

Not sure I'd trust the folks who caused the problem to fix it. I've heard that Zaino's does wonders for swirls, but I've not had time to order some to try out on the Camry.

hmm, I just bought some zaino, I'll give it a try. . .I don't want to buff the clearcoat out, I'll keep the swirls, ya know? But if zaino works. . .i'll post an update. . .

zaino works, sort of

well, it got rid of a lot of the swirls, BUT it did not get rid of the scratches in the clearcoat. And I guess I didn't expect it too. . .I guess I'll have to have THAT buffed out in a detail, so for now, I have show room shine and sheen with some clearcoat gashes ONLY viewable from WAYYYY up close in the right light. . .I love and hate black trucks. . .I'll post pictures here and in the gallery forum once I get my PIAA 540's installed (just got the grill put on, it's looking good!!). . .
