This should have been my build thread...
Well...After replacing my other lights on my brush guard with Hellas....I decided I'd attempt to mount them on my rack. They were just sitting around in the garage so I gave it a shot. Turned out pretty good IMO. Thanks to JSMarine for his hose clamp idea. Worked like a charm! The lights mounted right up with no issues and I was able to run the wires based on another thread. I can't remember who posted it but I'll find it and definitely give you the credit. I believe it was on Yotatech, but the member may also post on here. I didn't want to drill anything so this route (down the door pillar)was by far the best one for me. I also ordered another toyota fog switch so everything looks factory inside. Now I have two switches. 1 for the Hella Fogs and 1 for the roof rack fogs. I took the Runner down a dark stretch on a back road and hit the lights. I was very pleased with the amount of light generated by them. Could see everything and I didn't have the glare off the hood that some have experienced. I definitely won't be using these lights for the most part unless we are camping and need some extra lighting. Plus, I'd want to get another battery and rewire the lights if I was running these for a long period of time. So in the end...this was a pretty good mod to tackle. I love the look of the lights on the rack and I also wanted them to work if needed as well. You never know when you will need additional light on a dark road in the middle of no where. Here are some pics.
