A real treasure: OEM Headlight Assembly

I finally started getting notices from Pull-A-Part when a 3rd gen arrives. Got there first thing this morning and pulled a headlight assembly in good shape. As Toyota does not seem to sell these anymore, I am getting a couple to have on hand.

Also got the Vapor Canister from the 2000 T4R at Pull-A-Part. Just stockpiling parts....LOL

Forgot to mention the skidplates....LOL

QUESTION: Does anyone have a trick to clean the interior chrome on the light assemblies without removing the glass? If so, please chime in....

I've cleaned headlight assemblies using just soapy water and agitation followed with a rinse of alcohol based window cleaner and setting them in a warm sunlit place to dry. I have heard of others using an abrasive solid media with the agitation, but being careful not to use anything with a higher hardness than the mirror coating. Walnut shells, ice, rice or styrofoam bb size pellets come to mind.
