As 02se stated, Fram Ultra is one heck of a filter for the price, though I haven't used one on a 4runner so I can't post a model number. And it isn't even orange.
As long as the OP uses a API certified oil and changes it often, it should help to clean the engine if it is needed. But without pics, one man's dirty is another man's clean.
Penn in the yellow jug, Penn Ultra, and Rotella t5 are all good cleaning oils that I have used in the past with success.
