Without an online copyright as you are implying by your definition of responsibility..... I do not need permission and do not have to remove anything. If you prefer to control how parts of your video are edited and distributed you should not have posted it on the internet.

Why does it matter if he uses your 4R anyway.. I think it would be sweet to have my 4R in there.. but thats just me.

The video is great. I have no problems with it. As for the legality of it, this post was made by a member...and it's up to that member to decide. This is a free forum.

Remember, internet is internet...what you post on the internet is fair game from my understanding.

Initally I asked permission and recieved it. I then started adding footage. There was a misunderstanding and I did not reliaze he meant only one 30 second clip from each movie. He then changed his mind and wanted it all taken out after he saw the video.
Had he not tried to insulted me in the process and just asked that I change or remove it, I would have honered his request.

As far as I know this is a case of "fair game" and does not voilate any online copyright infringements as mikestang tried to imply.

The purpose of this video was only to compiled a bunch of different clips showcasing the 4th gen 4runner in various conditions so people who are interested in how capable the 4th gen 4runner is can watch a bunch of different footage in one video. If I used your footage you should take it as a compliment because it is exceptional footage. I have tried to give everyone credit for their part in a 3rd version we are working on putting together.

In reality stuff gets posted downloaded, edited and uploaded back on the internet all the time. Deal with it.....

You have acknowledged that he revoked his permission. You cannot pick and choose on legal issues when you decide you have been insulted or becaue you have a good "purpose".

Read the DMCA. As imperfect as it is and whether or not it fits well, it is meant to tell people like you to stop taking things without full consent.

In "reality" people will open your locked or unlocked vehicle and steal things. Do you "deal with it" by letting them get away with it? Can they claim that they asked your permission but misunderstood? Even if they steal from you on the Internet?

Do the right thing and "return" Joel's property by deleting those clips. Take the high ground and skip the weak excuses for doing something wrong.

Get out in your very own 4Runner and take your own cool videos. It will be more satisfying than attempting to justify theft.

It's a matter of view. This uproar is occuring on my forum...i am just trying to calm things down by giving my consent for Mr. L to use my video...as anyone can use it because i post it on the net, whether it be on my forum or somewhere else. I am not anal retentive about my amateur videos. If i were, then shame on me for having such an amateurish video!

This is my opinion on the matter. I am not here to judge anyone. Mr. L has not posted a porno video nor insult this forum...so, i am a happy camper. It is up to him to decide, not me.

Since this is only a link to the Google video, there is no violation of this forum's rules. We have all posted video links on this forum. In the end, it is up to Google or Mr. L to decide the fate, not me.

Hell, i may ask Mr.L to make a compilation of my off-roading videos!
