a very bad week

i recently bought the 05 runner sr5 in late september
i added
leather
marble wood trim
door sills
exhaust tip
rear t-bar
spoiler
all weather mats
and nav w/ps2

guess what
they broke into my runner stole my nav and my ps2 along with my t-bar that was locked and ruined my marble wood trim

im so pissed
more so because they stole my ps2 are that cheap that they cant afford a $100 ps2 and broke my glove box during the thief

why did they have to break things they counldnt be considerate not only are they robbing my stuff but they dont have to destroy everthing else

sorry had to vent
people pay good money only to one get robbed

Sorry to hear about that man. There are a lot of low lifes out there willing to screw anyone over cause they're either too stupid or lazy (often it's a combination of both) to work for what they want. (Can you tell I've been screwed similarly before?)

There's a hell and heaven. And if you believe the scriptures, anyone who drives and takes care of his T4R will be welcomed into offroad heaven, and those who've committed sins against the T4R will be cast to hell! Damn low-life bastards!

And RaysMD is right, it's only money, but it doesn't make you feel less likely to pull the thief's finger nails out one by one if given the chance.
 
Sorry to hear the bad news.....Someone broke into my Honda and stole my Eclipse Deck (stupid person because you can't use the deck once you disconnect the battery. You need the pre-program disk to get it working again) and destroyed my glove box. Don't worry, the insurance company with pay for everything...Just hope you saved your receipt.

I always leave my glove compartment unlocked so they will not break it.

Also park your vehicle in garage or areas with CC camera. This will reduce your risk.
 
I feel your pain... Thieves are only interested in what they can get quickly and hopefully make money with a fast turnaround. The longer they hold onto stuff the better chance they have of getting caught.

I have had 2 vehicles broken into, both times getting the stereo and all electronics, plus CDs, even stole my running shoes once... Usually they cut all the wires to get everything out and you have to live with wires that are soldered togethered and wrapped once they are fixed.

All of this stuff can be replaced, plus you can insist on getting the car detailed to clean up all of the remnants they left behind.
 
I recently just bought the cheap headrest DVD player with 2 screens for my little daughter from walmart. I have to take off and on the headrest, because i know some low life out there will break the windows or something just for that. It's not worth it all but they will do it for little money.
 
it was done in bensonhurst and im screwed because i have no proof to the insurance company i had nav in the car or for that matter everything else i unforanately lucked out and to think the truck was coming out good with the mods i was doing

o well i guess it wasen't meant to be
 
that sucks, it happened to me in front of my own house they took absolutely everything they could... including pens and notebooks... wtf? also took my 2 week old $250 pioneer HU and messed up the drivers side door panel to try to take my speakers even... my car was trashed like yours
sorry to hear what happened. I hope those people will drive off a cliff
 
So far, I have had good luck with the 4runner.... But give it time. I recently had a 2000 honda civic si, that i sold to my brother. It was broken into and repaired about 1 month before i sold it to him. He took it back with him to LA. One additional month later it was stolen. Lucky for him, i sold it at a very nice price and he came out $2500 ahead after insurance paid out the car. Sucks to be the vicitim of thieves, especially crappy ones who break everything in the process.
 
Yeah that really does suck because I too live in brooklyn!!!! My interior being charcoal and also having tints make the inside appear dark so no one can really see inside that well. Someone had to have seen what you had inside maybe. I would recommend tinting in the future it may help.:(
 
i wish it were legal to shoot someone breaking into your car. ive had two attempts by low lifes to break into my car, the first time i was still up and heard my alarm, ran outside hoped in the truck and drove around the neighborhood, only to find them 8 house's down trying to break into another car.... needless to say they wont be coming back to my neighborhood.... second time i had those bling bling 20" wheels on the runner and someone smashed my window to try and get my tv.... alarm went off and ran outside with full intention of catching them but there is just something about seeing your window on the ground and your dash ripped off that stops you in your tracks....
 
... upgrade the alarm system... I'm doing that to mine... Especially a couple glass break sensors. I have a proximity sensor, Shock sensor. Going to put a tilt sensor into it also. So if anyone messes with my truck.......

ohh... I'm also building in a little surprise INSIDE the vehicle.... :-)

To bad we can't have electrostatic force fields that would repel off theives.....


ZAP! like a bug zapper... next morning.. you just see them there.. call the cops and have them picked up...

I live in Florida and have a concealed carry permit. According to the FL statutes, you are allowed to defend yourself in the case of the forcable felony (as defined under justifiable use of force). A forcable felony is defined as :

776.08 Forcible felony.--"Forcible felony" means treason; murder; manslaughter; sexual battery; carjacking; home-invasion robbery; robbery; burglary; arson; kidnapping; aggravated assault; aggravated battery; aggravated stalking; aircraft piracy; unlawful throwing, placing, or discharging of a destructive device or bomb; and any other felony which involves the use or threat of physical force or violence against any individual.


Notice that this includes burglary and robbery. Combine that with the October 1st law that went into effect here in FL (removes your duty to retreat), and you could technically shoot someone breaking into your car (as long as that person was a threat ... such as they came at you with a hammer or screwdriver or whatever they were carrying). Now -- I am not at all saying that you should shoot someone breaking into you car ... but, it looks like you technically could given the right circumstances.
 
thank you UoD. I had heard about the October 1st law, just never did my homework on it, of course i dont have my CWP yet, but that will come in time. I didnt want to start talking about something I didnt know too much about, but now that i have been enlightened....

i need to go get my permit

and i would never ever just shoot some low life scum that was breaking into my car.... unless he had already broken a window or such....
