A340 Auto Trans & Transfer Case Fluid

Just finished installing shift solenoids in my A340 4WD trans. Also decided to drop the pan on the transfer case. Good thing because there was a solenoid with a wire broken off. I soldered the wire and put everything back together. The fluid that came out of the transfer case was the same color and smell as trans fluid. Do I need to fill the transfer case separate from the trans or will the trans fluid flow into the transfer case.

A340what? What year is your truck, what motor does it have? There's an A340H that shares fluid between the transmission and transfer case, and there's an A340F that I think has a separate transfer case that'll need it's own fluid.

It's a A340H. Thanks for the info!

the t case no solenoids in it was well

What year?
If your T-case has a separate cooler like the one in the picture below... you need to run Dextron 3 compatible ATF in it.
