Not gonna lie, gaterose, momo.75 and A_Hul...(unfortunately I still haven't found out how to "tag" or "mention" someone in the forums, so sorry in advance) I was eyeing the crap out of this thread earlier today and I have to say, I am jealous that you guys are all so close and can work with each other on the 4runners. About (at least) 70% of the stuff you all did on the 4runner, I want to do to mine, trying not to copy too much of the same stuff to make my own 4runner unique in its own way. It is a lot harder finding the motivation to spend that much money on my car and not go broke at the same time lol. I probably shouldn't leave out my level of expertise on customizing the 4runner compared to you guys as well hehe, it is a lot harder coming into this single handedly by myself than it would be with someone who knows exactly what they're doing, also I technically don't have full ownership of my vehicle yet as it still is under my parents name, but that will change very soon I feel when I get married in about 5 months. Anyway... just thought I would pop in and say hey since I don't share much too often, but man do all these 4runner builds get me psyched, and yes as many before my post have said...that front brush guard is awesome looking!

I will say its hard not to "copy" people on this forum. Hell we all look at other peoples rigs and say thats how i want mine to look, so you see what kind of lift and tire size and go from there. I know what you mean about motivation when it comes to spending money on mods, if it wasnt for some of the guys on here right now i would be still be rocking my daystar and 265s. Glad you chimmed in buddy,

Lord its been a while since I've posted here. Took a substantial break from messing with the 4runner while I was in college and since graduating 2 years ago, I started to get the itch again.
Since I last posted I havent done too much but Ive added a custom made rear tire carrier,CVT MT. Rainier RTT, and a CVT Batwing Awning

After using the rear swing out more and more, its really a pain in the a!*. The way we fabbed it up, the hinge isnt out far enough for easy opening of the back hatch. Basically i have to swing it all the way open and hold it to open the rear hatch.
I imagine in the near future I am just going to design a rear bumper and get my welder buddy to help out.

Couple of pictures from competing in the Southern Expeditions Overland Rally this past weekend. Our yotas brought 1st place!
These new Toyo MTs are something awesome. 8+ hours on interstate both ways and off-roading all weekend was the true test. It’ll be hard for me to go to a different tire after riding them as hard as we did.

Was tired of lugging boxes around when we went off-roading and camping so I built a drawer system to where I could utilize the space better.
Built out of T-Slot extrusion, HDPE, some poplar laying around the shop for the drawers, 28” full extension 250lb drawer slides, and a DFG Offroad tilting fridge slide for my Dometic CFX50.
Decided to inlay the HDPE so that I can still utilize the t-slot to attach mounting hooks for strapping down any extra gear on top. Super stoked with how it turned out. Now I just have to figure out how to organize the drawers.
