About to buy 04 Sp. Ed....last minute questions

OK I'm a newbie and by months end i hope to make a deal on an 04 v6 sport edition.

1.Was quoted $30,300(includes destination) but not tax,tags, and title.

I'm thinking I will counter w/ invoice $29,250 + ttt. What do you think?

2.Any other last minute recalls/problems I should know about?

3.I will be trading in my Lightning if i can't sell it by months end. How should I negotiate the trade in value? I'm thinking I go in and say "alright, $18,500 for my trade-in and $30,000 out the door and I will sign right now.

4. I've seen a few 4 runners w/ Enkei 18's. Some said dealer installed. How? And what size tires were used.

I'm in Northern VA btw.

Help appreciated.

You will love the 4runner.

I'm not sure what options you are looking at buy I got mine '04, 4x2, v-8, sport and w/ sunroof for $28,300. Good rule of thumb is at or below MSRP after TTT.

If I were you I would seriously look at the v8 over the v6. I'm not sure if you test drove both but coming from a lightening you will be much more satisfied with the v8.

The only complaint I have regarding my Runner is a light rattle coming from (what sounds like) behind the drivers window.

But besides that it this is my favorite car/truck I have owned.

4. I've seen a few 4 runners w/ Enkei 18's. Some said dealer installed. How? And what size tires were used.

I have seen them in Atlanta, they are sometimes a Port installed option. I belive they are 265/60R18. They do look nice, but I would think buying tires that size may be a bit more limited in choice. Also, that size is better for the street than off road. I think a member here has installed 20" wheels.

The price the dealer quoted you sounds about what they want to let it go for. I got mine for 30088 without destination and ttt, you may be able to chisel away a couple more hundred dollars. I'm not sure what options you are getting but mine came with:

Wheel locks
Moonroof
Spoiler
JBL 10 system with Rear Audio control, 2 headphones and remote
Double decker cargo system
Preferred accessory package (Z1 - carpet, cargo mats and first aid kit)

I got the Runner over at Lustine Toyota/Dodge in Woodbridge. Edguardo was my salesman and he was pretty easy to deal with. I myself went with the V6. I test drove the V8 and felt a bit more power out of it but couldn't justify they extra 1200-1500 more and lesser gas mileage when I don't have anything to tow. No problems to report out of the 4Runner to date, but again I've only had it for about 3 weeks. Good luck with your purchase and I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever route you go/

It has the same options you just mentioned. All for $29,999(destination included) plus ttt. But I can get a $400 off for recent college grad and another rebate for being a member of Navy Fed. Credit Union. The V-6 was just fine as that is all I will need.

I will hopefully be getting mine Friday in either Tysons or Springfield. Or I will be getting a new Acura TL. But we'll see.

Sounds like a good price. I got mine for about $29,200 without a sunroof.

I have the 18's on mine and love 'em. There aren't as many tire options in this size, but then again, the Kumho's are really good tires and don't really need another option. Mine is a 4x2 V* and it will never be off anything more than a dirt road. If you are planning on taking it off-road, I would advise against getting the 18's. If you go to the gallery section you will find several versions with 17's and 18's. Either way you go, you are going to love this truck.
