About to buy my first 4Runner, is this a good deal?

Hey guys,

I have been wanting a 03+ 4Runner for a long time. Well I finally found one that a dealer was willing to help me out on. Its a 2003 limited V8 4x4 with 80,000 miles plus aftermarket NAV. They were asking $16,200 and willing to let it go for $15,800. They said they offer low sale prices which is why they will not take much off the price. I noticed the wholesale value on this 4Runner is $15,400 and auction value at $14,000. They bought this 4Runner at the auction. Carfax shows 2 personal owners, no accidents and shows the service records all done at the dealer. I expect the dealer to make some money but since I have never bought one I would like to know what 4Runner owners think.

Hi there, im not to sure to be honest. I bought a certified v8 sport with 30k miles (2006) for 21k all in (inc taxes fees etc) in May. Even though 4runners can run for 100,000s of miles i would save up a bit more money perhaps 17k and get a newer one? Just my 2 cents. Im sure you can get a certified one with 50-65k or less miles for around that price now?

It's not bad, but there are better out there. I just purchsed my 03 v8 4x4 limited with every option (including factory nav, X-REAS, rear height control, etc). It does have 123k miles, but I got it out the door for $11,749. In addition, it was a one owner with all maintenance performed at the local dealer.
