ABS Light Code C1246

Hello to the forum – first time here

I have a beautiful 4Runner 2003 - 6 cyl.

My ABS light came on.
No maintenance was performed on the vehicle.

(The ASC TRAC and ASC OFF lights are also on – in sympathy to the ABS I think)

The code reader shows C1223 (ABS) and C1246 (Pressure Sensor)

I suspect the pressure sensor is the culprit. Does anyone have experience with this problem / code?

Toyota wants $388 for the replacement sensor and there is no after market available

I can get the whole master cyl from a yard for $70 which included a pressure sensor.

Is there any way to test the switch without removing it?

Finally, How does one reset the codes once the replacement is complete?

Did you have any work done recently (maintenance or modifications)? Try this, it should work as a fix. If you've had anything done with the front suspension/brakes, the ABS speed sensor wire could be damaged, which is very common unfortunately.

Was it the pressure sensor or a speed sensor that was the problem?
