AC automaically turns on

I hate the fact that if my 13' TE has the temperature control knob turned all the way left to cold that the AC automatically turns on.

Sorry if this has been covered. I did a search and could not find an answer.

Is this a programmable feature that can be turned off?

Or has anybody mod'd this so it does not turn on?

I'm working on getting the seatbelt alert/tone turned off as well. Really annoying when I'm hunting--driving slowly in the woods.

While I haven't searched too hard to see if this is an ECU modifiable item, that same behavior still exists on my 2019 ORP.

I deal with it by turning the knob one click to the right and turning off the A/C by pressing the A/C button.

I do like the fact that the A/C button will turn on the A/C regardless of where the cold-hot setting is so you can defrost in any temp.

The extra click at the far end puts it in recirculate mode. Just move it out of that area and it will stay off as [MENTION=323406]xyzzy[/MENTION] said above.

The seat belt chime is controlled by custom settings either by a dealer or if you have TIS software and a cable. I set mine a long time ago for no seat belt warning for the driver. I left the passenger side on and it will chime for 59 times, then it quits.

It's annoying since you can't always fine tune a knob while driving, but I have been reassured that it is a feature and not a bug.

All the way left is the MAX A/C setting. If you don’t want AC then leave it at the end of the blue cold line and it won’t automatically turn on the A/C.
