After buying my 2006 4Runner this winter, I tried the AC for the first time about a month ago and I realized it was blowing cold on the passenger side and warm on the driver's side. I recharged it with a bottle of R134a and it blew cold on both sides.
Recently, I realized that the AC compressor keeps kicking on/off so the vents will alternate blowing cold/warm air. After researching it a little, I found that this is a fairly common problem with the magnetic clutch relay, (same part number used for fog light relay) Here is a thread from another forum that addresses it 2003 4Runner Air Conditioning issues... - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum
So I started looking around for relays and some guys are saying that the EVERCO 35874 from Autozone works, but it doesn't match up on the Autozone website. Autozone says this is the fog light relay Relay - Fog Lamp | 2006 Toyota 4 Runner 4WD 8 Cylinders T 4.7L EFI DOHC | AutoZone.com but they don't list an AC compressor relay.
Amazon says this Four Seasons 35874 Standard Relay Amazon.com: Four Seasons 35874 Standard Relay: Automotive works for slightly older 4Runners, but not for 2006s.
Amazon says this Standard Products ry345 fits my 4Runner, it appears to have an additional prong unlike the above relays. http://www.amazon.com/Standard-Moto...F8&qid=1401463239&sr=8-1&keywords=ry345+relay
If I can, I'd like to avoid dropping $70+ to get the part from a dealer, can anyone clear up if any of the above relays would work for my 4Runner? Thanks
