AC Condenser Please Help

Ok,

Here is the situation i am in. There day while driving down the road a truck in front of me kicked up a tire tread that was blown off of an 18 wheeler. The tread hit the front of my 4Runner. When it hit the front of the 4Runner it wrapped under the bumper punching a hole in the Condenser.

Toyota quoted me 739.58 for part 88461-60091.

What i am wondering is if anyone knows where i can get a toyota part for cheaper and if i should get it fixed at toyota or a reputable shop.

Check the prices at Partznet.

As far as Toyota or a reputable shop, it's your call. If you go to a reputable shop, though, make sure they have the skill and equipment to handle A/C work. There is one place here that does only automotive A/C work, for example.

Unless it's a freebie warranty repair I'd never let the Toyota service monkey's touch my 4Runner. I'd definitely go to a reputable shop, especially if they specialize in A/C system repair.

What really makes me mad is that i am going to be out of about 1,200 for something that i had no controll over. Oh well i guess that is the price you pay to drive. My 4Runner is about 2 months old, after 30 miles i have a huge crack in the windshield and now have to get a new condenser.

By the way does anyone know the part number for the front glass with the coating on it?
