AC Control Knob 03 4Runner

can someone tell me the next time they are in their runner if on the 3 heat and ac control knobs if the small light on the left knob when the heat or ac is in the off position if the light on the knob itself not the backround light when the parking lights are on, but on the top of the knob itself near the word off if its lit all the time, mine isnt. when lit it looks like an amber triangle. because if yours is lit i am going to get a new knob for 30bucks if yours isnt lit either then i can save my money. thx

Hey guys, I'm having light bulb issues too. The right half backlit display above those knobs has gone out. I've taken the panel out to access the bulb holders in the back of the panel, and sure enough, the tiny bulb's filament is broken. (Just the the right side of the backlight went out; the display/time still works.)

Has anybody found stock replacements for these bulbs?

I'm also thinking of getting some white LED's from Radioshack and replacing the two for the backlight-display.
Here's some images for reference:




The two green circles are the spots for the orange backlight bulbs, all the others in white circles are for other bulbs and different locations. I just want to replace the two green circles with LED's or stock bulbs, if anybody knows where to get them.

thx but mine is the little triangle light is out when in the off position in the low,med,high, knob unfortunately the knob has to be taken apart and a new led bulb has to be soldered in, too much work i just ordered a new knob for 30bucks much easier to replace whole knob......thanks,

I just got back from RadioShack and I could not find a proper sized LED or incandescent bulb. I've been reading other threads about replacing interior cabin and map lights with LED kits sold online, but I doubt those retailers carry anything this specific.

Here's a picture of the stock (burnt out) bulb in the holder.

It drives me nuts too. I want to have a "red" LED installed in the "off position".

No it shouldn't. The "off position" light NEVER work b/c the factory never installed an LED there.
