AC Dash Switch

Hi, this is my first or second post..

I just took ownership of my cousins's 99 SR5, A solid runner, and most of it was functional. THe ac blew impressively ice cold, The AC switch on the dash was stove in, but the switch was stuck in the on position.
I purchased an aftermarket switch with same part number, and simply pulled out the old and stuck in the new.
The green light came on... but no ac...
So I reinstalled the old switch, still no cold air.

Obviously, this entire switch business could be a red herring, and I have other issues in the system.

Before I spend much more time on this, Do you really think the switch has anything to do with it?

What would you tackle next? Any obvious indicators? Fuse is intact..

And a Big Hey Y'all from the big EZ, where AC is appreciated!

Thanks!
