AC gas charge recommendation?

I have an 2008 V6 SE in Seattle. I've never gas charged my AC and fortunately my AC has been fine as Seattle doesn't get too hot during the summer months. It's still blowing cold air. However, do you guys recommend charging the AC regardless after so many years..? My estimate was $129.95 for gas charge at the shop.

There's a few videos online about testing one's AC before committing to all the work. Biggest question, if it exists, is why you are low on refrigerant. The AC system is a closed loop. If you're low, there's a leak somewhere.

Start with a thermometer in the air vent and see how cold your AC blows. If you think it just needs a minor touch up, you can try one of those DIY can's from an auto parts store for a few bucks.

My 2 cents, don't mess with it if it ain't broke.
