Why does the rpm increase by 250-350 when the ac kicks on when idling? Is this normal?
Never owned a vehicle before that the idle surges when the ac compressor kicks on and off.
I think every single car that I have driven before has had the engine speed increase when the a/c is activated. I was under the impression that the a/c compressor, alternator, radiator fan, etc. were driven by the same drive belt, not for just this car, but most cars. Then again, I'm not a mechanic, so I'm not sure.
