Ac recharge leaked out overnight.

1986 4runner 22rte automatic. So I recharged my previously retrofited r134 ac system it worked great and got very cold, but it all leaked out over night. I asume the previous retrofit was just charge fitting and easter oil to make it compatible with r134. I didn't use the uv leak detector dye when i charged it big mistake.
How are the lines sealed? O-rings? If they are rubber o-rings I plan on changing them out. So DYI ac threads say to get asorted o-rings kits. Others say there are specific r12 and r134 o-rings.

I have found if I use the 134 green o rings they leak after a year or two if not right off the bat. I go with black o rings, and always seal up first time. If all other components are good. If Toyota uses them from factory why switch

If you lost that much freon that fast, should be obvious sign of leakage. Look for wet black spots for dirt collecting on the oil. If you had the dye oil it would be green evan without a uv light.

Your best leak detectors are your eyes.

To find the leak take an air nosle to the h side put air in and fallow the noise do it a lot at work. Way cheaper than 134a and faster

Never thought of that but if you did this. And sprayed the lines and components with soapy water that would help also.

Often what we do if we can't find the exact spot windex works well too
