AC115 Inverter Button Not Working

Hey Team,

The OEM Inverter isn't working. When I press dash button, the button no longer lights up and there is no power to the hidden two-blade AC outlet in the center console.

I've checked both of the fuses labeled Inverter on the in-cabin fuse block and and under-hood fuse block. They are both good.

I know it has worked in the past, I used it to power a laptop last year.

Any ideas about what to test next before the I tear the cargo panels out to get at the inverter itself?

Turns out the switch was not connected in back. It had spontaneously separated !?!

I went to put the interior fuse panel back on and reached up to feel the back of the switch with the thought that I'd replace it and I realized it wasn't connected. Weird.

...now I'm wondering what other electrical gremlins are out there waiting in the wings due to loose connections? bwah ha ha ha ha...

Well that's good news, better than a bad inverter. BTW, most inverters have internal fuses.

I have the inverter in my 2004 and used it many times, mostly for the AC charger for the phone. I thank you for posting the issue and solution in case I ever run into the problem myself.
