Access to 3rd Seat Row?

Offroader

New member
Since I've never seen a 4Runner with the 3rd Seat Row, could anyone tell me how do passengers access the seats in the back?

Is it by folding the 2nd seat row, or through the rear lift gate?

Also, how much does it cost to purchase it, if mine didn't come with it?

Is it difficult to install?

Thanks in advance!

The second row seats tumble forward. Much easier to get into the back than the Highlander or Pilot or most any SUV I can think of.

As far as I know, you cannot add the 3rd row seat. There are 4 slots in the floor of the rear cargo are where the bottoms of the seats attach. Plus there are rear seat belts and slots for where rear seats attach on the side of the vehicle.

Since it appears no one has posted pics of the 3rd row, maybe tonight I will take some pics and post them so people can see what it looks like.

BTW, I love the 3rd row seats. My 7 and 3 YO always want to sit in the back.

I'd love them, but they don't offer it in the packages I want. Why can't you have a sport and third row? Oh and why can't you have a sunroof with third row?

The reason you can't get the third row seats with the sunroof is because the head liner is lower with the sunroof.

Wow, thanks a lot for such a detailed explanation of the 3rd seat row.

Now I can see that the 7 passenger 4Runner is a dramatically different vehicle on the inside, with all the anchor points, different panels, seatbelts, and a different 2nd row of seats to allow access.
