Accident question (not 4 Runner or GX)

The Truck had a meeting with a cow about 3 weeks ago.

When OnStar came on ask if need assistance, well yeah
it has no headlights. They sent DPS, 4 wreckers, and
a EMS.

Now getting bills from the EMS company eventhrough
had no need for them. My insurance just say tell them
I did not request them to come and dont feel should
be billed.

Has any others had an issue where OnStar called,
did you pay. Its not a allot but, there wasnt a
need for them to come, and you are not informed
that will be billed. State Farm agent said they
are getting complaints from there customers about
this.

Oh each passenger get's a bill

This is very strange. If I am understanding you correctly, you were not treated by EMS, yet you still recieved a bill.

I work in the field, and I have never heard of anyone getting billed if they were not treated and transported by EMS. In addition, I have only heard of companies billing the insurance company. If the insurance company won't pay, they won't go after the person themselves.

Was the ambulance volunteer or paid?

OnStar has no control over whether or not you will get billed for EMS. It is soley up to the EMS company.

If it comes to it, OnStar apparently records all of their phone conversations (at least it seems that way since they have all those annoying ads). You should be able to get the tape from them, where I am assuming they didn't ask you if you needed medical assistance, or if they did, you said no, from what you described.

Don't know about the service all I said to them was I didnt
need any treatment and that is stated on the bill, treatment
and transport refused.

I was busy talking with the DPS and the wrecker guys.

As soon as it happened we were out of the truck trying to
see what happened. Seems told OnStar all fine. Than
headed down the road to find what we hit.

Know when EMS pulled up said what are they doing here..
Just figured it was customary for them to follow DPS.

But to bill each passenger $50 and not do a thing -- WOW

Depends on the community and how strapped they are for $$$. I know some communities that are billing (like plumbers and electricians) for the trip out to the wreck site... Their reasoning... It cost them money and resources to send a vehicle and crew to the site, even if they weren't necessary.

ON-Star has no knowledge of your medical condition. Unless you specifically requested ON-Star not to send EMS, they will attempt to err on the side of caution. Afterall, they would not want to have someone critically ill that they did not send EMS to.

Insurance may cover it if the EMS actually checked you over and verified you had no injuries. Otherwise, you might try to haggle with the EMS billing dept to see if they can lower the bill. If they did nothing at all, they should allow you to pay off a lesser amount (or nothing if you complain loud enough).
