From the looks of it, looks like any 03-05 4th gen owner can swap on the 06+ fenderflares/cladding. The one picture from the side, you can see the driverside front fender has the same shape as the 03-05 4Runner.

That sucks! Everybody ok? I just looked through your sig pics. That's a good looking '07, hopefully it'll be back in shape soon.

Details

A lady in the fast lane of a 3 lane highway was hit in the rear, she spun across 3 lanes heading toward me in the slow lane. I swerved to avoid direct contact. She struck me front fender just before front wheel spining me off the road into the guardrail. I then bounced off the rail plowing mud, grass etc another 300 feet. Came to rest rear end on guard rail. When it was all over for a mere second I thought I migh tbe dead. It was !SO quiet and calm. I didn't feel a damn thing. I looked down and my soda was still there, then like a timewarp I heard my music. I exited my vehicle, screaming obsenities. Tried to get 911 - they were too busy to answer. Five 911 calls later still no answer. I just gave up trying. So much for paying my taxes.
I do have insurance, however I dont want this vehicle back. It now will go on record with 13K of damage. I have just made my 16th payment on it. Once fixed, I'll have to sue for Diminished Value (DV) then try to get rid of it. The shop just came today to take it away.
Im now driving a GM Cobalt, Now I know why GM went out of business. What a POS
Besides having to fight for what I need to get out of this mess, I am OK. At least I got to see my kids again. Thanks for asking.

WOW that sucks. Does it drive normally?

It really sucks because it looks like its all cosmetic meaning no frame/structural damage and its all over the place.

You can be happy for your safety in the car and the fact that nothing worse happened. For you to skid that far it sounds like you were moving - not speeding but definitely highway speeds.

Yeah it drives fine. I was on a 3 lane highway travelling at approx 55 MPH. It was raining. It had been raining all day. The embankment I slid down was pure MUD.
Once stuck engaing LOW or LOCKING DIFF don't do any good. The fing lights just flash at you. Totally useless!

In regards to low, you must be in neutral to engage - your wheels probably werent lined up after the accident thus preventing it from engaging. I learned recently that you can engage the CDL while stuck. Hit the button and LIGHTLY press the gas - it should engage.

Again Im glad your OK. Best of luck with insurance, and all that other BS.

BTW - you lost your V8 emblem:mad:

Very glad to hear your ok and be thankful you rode through that in the T4R rather than the Cobalt. You might be really hurt.

The thing that makes me nuts is the Cobalt is what the gov't wants us to drive, :soapbox: Talk about increasing medical costs!

For running around town - a golf cart will get you there safely. But if you intend to make frequent highway trips, trips with your family, etc you need a safe car. I honestly dont feel safe in any sedan on the highway.

Sorry to hear about that, glad you are ok though.

The 911 thing is absurd.

Are you going to get another 4runner or a different vehicle?

Can low be engaged in PARK?
That's the first thing I pointed out to the insurance company.;):

We'll see if I can get out of my loan. I may have more luck with Toyota, however infiniti wants me as well. Maybe its time for a G37 Sedan, with all the electronic goodies that Toyota doesnt offer or have. Although the 09 T4R supposedly has IPOD integration. Bout time Toyota! Everyone else has had it for years.

No matter what happens. The comradery and friendship that happens in this community, cannot be matched! You guys and this community rock!

Whoa, that sucks! That was a nice looking T4R.

Go figure your rig would get wrecked because of someone else. I'm guessing they were not driving appropriately given the weather conditions. I had a similar issue a few years ago in the snow from someone blowing past me in white out conditions. Dumb drivers drive me nuts!

I don't blame you for not wanting to keep it after it gets fixed. Wrecked and then fixed vehicles never ride quite the same.

Fix, sell it, and get an 2009 Limited and mod it. :D

Oh, and yes, the 09 does have iPod integration. The add on is $299 according to Toyota.com, I'm sure you could find it cheaper somewhere else though.

Yup thats what the brochure states. And includes steering wheel controls as well, bout time they finally support the IPOD.

Damn! That absolutely sucks, but the most important part is you are OK and you get to see your kids again. You'll work thorough the other stuff. We're here if you need to vent.
