I know a fellow who is obsessive about perfection shouldn't drive a 2001 vehicle, but, here I am, lol.

Anyway, since I've had a vibration surface last summer, I think I may have finally found 4Runner bliss again this week.

I went through tons of issues, and today I had the opportunity to enjoy the final combination of: great suspension (last summer's KYBs); no vibration (body mounts, engine mounts, new exhaust, fixed ****ed up new exhaust); tight yet smooth steering (ball joints, PO steering rack); no creaking (new rear bumper for rusted out POS).

I did tons of other stuff in the meantime as well, but those finally managed to get rid of the creaks and groans and the vibration.

Today I was driving a Rolls Royce with off-road balls. :guitar2:

I'd say once you chucked the belt dressing last year, you started down the right track.

I think the reason that you, myself, and others are so obsessed is that we know how good the 3rd gen 4runner truly is. I am not taking away anything from the 4th or 5th gens, they have their merit and place, but they could not replace my third.

I drove a Rolls Royce Ghost last year; I won't make comparisons.
