ACRONYM's

As an older , and fairly new member , I have difficulty translating all the abbreviations and acromyms tossed about here. I realize with the advent of IM , Texting , and various other means of communicating , many young people have their own brand of shorthand.

Us old geezers just have a big problem with it. Some of the other discussion boards I participate in have a "Sticky" post with all the acronyms listed alphabetically with a long hand version of what it really means.

If the moderators here think that would be helpful for many , I would be glad to assist in any way.

ROFL - Rolling on floor, laughing.

Yes, and some of them are actually more on the technical side, at least in recent threads. For example:

WOT - wide open throttle
ECU - electronic control unit (car's computer)
PCM - powertrain control module (similar to car's computer)
DTC - diagnostic trouble code (code for check engine light)
MAF - mass airflow sensor
IAC - idle air control valve

These are just a few that I've read in recent threads. But the OP (original poster) is correct, it would be a useful reference to have a list of them for some members.
