Active Threads at once..

I agree, the moderators have a friendly bet, i.e. no money, what day do we reach 1,000 members. Last time I checked it was 925 or so. Any friendly guesses out there????ChuckyD said:

That's how it usually goes. By next year there will be a ton more. I should make a suggestion to Thai though. The active thread section, if possible, extend the time in which it stays posted there. I have seen things disappear after a few hours. If people take a quick look there will be more things to talk about hence enticing them to stick around and chat some more...

Sometimes when I check the ative threads and most are gone, I sign myself out and then I see many more active threads. I have my account set up so I don't sign in automatically, so I can see all the active threads.
I agree if we can keep the active threads up longer, I would then sign in automatically.

When you ARE logged in it will read "View New Posts" and will only show you the threads that have had activity since the last time you logged in.

That does not always work. Even if I do not read a thread and come back it sometimes shows the threads and sometimes it does not. Then sometimes it does not show any threads, so to be sure if there are any new ones I check the categories and I find threads I had not yet read within an our from the time they were posted.

I make it a point to "try" and read every thread at least once. When there are a lot of active threads, I can't read them all, but when I get back to the site, the threads are gone, so I log out.
For me being a Moderator it is a little bit of a pain, I assume MOST people don't log on as much as me. I think most people that visit don't have the problem I do.
Also, I noticed Iman74 had to post 4 times or so, to complete one story because of character length. Not that it was such a great story, but maybe we can have the ability to post slightly longer.
(Iman74, just kidding about your story, it brought tears to my eyes.

AFAIK it doesn't matter whether or not you read the thread.Iman74 said:

If you log in only once every couple of days, then clicking on the "View New Posts" button should give several dozen results, even if you've read some of the threads when you were not logged in.
If you don't log in (and don't forget that automatic log in is an option) then the "View Today's Active Threads" should always show you all active threads from the past 24 hours, even if you've read the threads already.

story that I'm thinking of, I remember thinking at the time: "why is he breaking it up into 4 parts?" The character limit per post is set at the default setting of 10,000 which is much bigger than what was posted IIRC (If I Recall Correctly 
).
