Name is Alex and now a fresh newbie to Toyotas as ive just picked up my first 4runner. Been building and wheeling jeeps(xjs and zjs) the last 10yrs, went through 7 during that time, and just got sick of them. Always wanted a T4R so I jumped on one in Florida. A 96 5spd 4x4 with 134k on it for $2900. Couldnt find anything in or around Colorado with those stats for less than 6k so the trip was worth it.
A little bit of neglect to it so I immediately did the timing belt,water pump, belts , plugs and wires, valve cover gaskets, and oil changes all around. Timing belt was never changed on it and judging by the looks of it, I would not have made it back to Denver if I hadnt changed it. Basically did all the work I needed to do to guarantee a quick and painless journey back to Denver. Engine is also extremely sludged up so im now going through the process of slowly cleaning that out as well. All in all not too bad of a deal and the rest of the truck is completely clean and in great shape.
Couldnt be happier to finally be part of the T4R group and looking forward to wheeling, camping, and enjoying the Rockies in my new toy!
