Adding oem options

Since I'm a complete noob to owning a car i love and want to mod I'm searching to find some experienced thoughts on adding oem options to a 5th gen sr5 4runner. I'd probably get the parts from my dealer unless there is a better source and was hoping many would be plug-and-play. I was looking at adding things that came on limited and trail models, for example: door jam lights, heated seats, power outlets, and possibly the te headlights. On my sr5 there are covers in place of what would be the door jam lights so I'm hoping to just swap them out and add some wiring, but as far as heated seats go I'm not so sure if there is the ability to add (electrical problems, wiring issues, who knows)

Also is there a comprehensive guide to 5th gen interior disassembly?

Ok, I have to ask.....IF you wanted these items in your SR5 why did you not get one with these options from the FACTORY?

You can get an SR5 from Toyota with the 'door jam lights', heated leather seats, & power outlets. I have a feeling you will spend more money adding these options than you would have it you just bought one with them off the lot.

To answer your question....you can add anything you want, it will just cost you $$$ and time. There are a number of good pdf's on the forum that will show you all the part #'s you need and how to access areas.

I bought the car on the lot that I liked, if there was one exactly as I would have chose to outfit it I would have purchased that vehicle insted. I got what I consider to be a great price, and will add what I would have liked as i go along.... Not that crazy, right?


Anyways, I didn't think I would want heated seats (must they be leather?) but now that winters here and I realize how much I do miss them.
Electrical outlets were packaged nicely with loads of additional junk on other 4runners on the lot and I didn't see an option to add the door jam lights from the limited without the entire package (and quite honestly only thought of it after having the truck awhile).

As for cost... That's why I post here asking for insight... To catch the unthough of barriers set a project plan and cost then review it to make sure i want to spend any money bc I know it wont be cheap.

Heated seats: do not need leather, I have heaters in my TE OEM seats.
this: Rostra 250-1550 Seat Heater Universal, 12 Volts
is basically what I have.

Outlets: you might be better off skiping the OEM and hardwiring in an aftermarket inverter. Some people on here have done so already.

Thanks to everyone and happy new year. I can see the headlight mod coming this spring. Still doing research on the inverter and wiring.

How will these mods effect factory warranty? Will using oem parts and locations keep me clear of potential problems?

This is exactly what I was looking at.... Any kudos/complaints? How was the install?
