addivce on what to look for when buying a 4 runner

hi, im not sure what im looking for and cunfused. i was thinking of getting a 1st gen 4 runner but i have been reading and it seems the 3rd gens ar a better engines if i went with a v 6. what about the 1st gen v6, how are they and how are the auto trans in the 1st gen v6?? how are the 3gen v6 with the auto trans? i been reading if i went with the 1st gen its best to go with a 22re with a 5 speed. is this true? i plan on doing some wheeling and dont want to spend my money the best thank you

Welcome! It also seems that the 4th gen v6 is better than the 3d gen and the 5th gen is way better than the 4th gen. Anywayz, it all boils down to horsepower and torque.

I'm partial to the 1st gens, the removable top is great, and the early ones have the solid front axle.
But any year 4Runner is good.
