ADH8796 4runner Build

With anticipation of my wheels showing up on Wednesday I went ahead put my lift and wheel spacers on. You can see how close the coils are at full drop & lock with no weight of wheel or tire on it so I'd be willing to bet limit straps a are in my future.

Idk if it would help you out but some have tried this to fix that problem instead of limiting straps. If you turn the perch on the shock some it will move the wraps around the shock and should hopefully put the ubj in between wraps at full droop. Might not be a sure fix but its worth a try before buying straps.

Yeah I had read about people doing that and it could help some. However I don't see it completely solving the problem. As it sits its not really hurting anything more than some powder coat. But I think limit straps will keep the powder coat on and help not put quite as much stress on the CV's when I have the front locked in.

After waiting over a month my wheels finally showed up. And go figure they sent the wrong rings. I believe Raceline makes a great product but my experience with their customer service was by far the worst experience I've ever had with anyone. At this point I decided I didn't care anymore and went ahead and mounted everything up. The all black look is growing on me.

Wheels are 4.75" BS I'm running 1.5" spacers front and 1/4" wheel spacers rear

I knew I'd have to do some cutting

And then I went out and checked my clearance and I'm happy to say I have zero rubbing issues up front. I was happy to find out I don't rub the frame at full lock either. I do have a little rubbing in the rear but it shouldn't take much to solve the problem. I'll be working on that tomorrow.

I always wondered what my 4Runner would look like if I bought a black one, now I know, and it's awesome!! :D

That's sucks about Raceline; Trail Ready sucks too, I've decided that if your going buy beadlocks just plan on it taking several months. I agree on having chrome rings for wheeling, but the black looks great on your rig (until they get all torn up like mine).

Wheels are 4.75" BS I'm running 1.5" spacers front and 1/4" wheel spacers rear

I really wish I would have gone this route, you get closer front/rear track width and the rear tucks into the wheel well better.

Thanks man so far I'm liking it. I'm glad I did the 4.75" BS it tucks perfect into the rear wheel wells without the 1/4" spacer but in an effort to keep the front and rear as close as possible I'll keep the 1/4" spacer and trim just a little. Looking down the side of the runner I can tell my overall width up front is about 1/4"-1/2" wider than the rear. I had originally planned on running 1.25" spacers up front but got a good deal on some 1.5" so I went picked them up. Thought about picking up a set of 1.25" to make the front match the rear a little better but knowing that I don't rub the frame rails kinda makes me want to keep the 1.5's. I guess we'll see.

Man that looks mean as hell!!

Thanks man!

All I've gotta say...

Hahaha that's awesome. Thanks!

Alright for all those who were interested to see how the air soft bb's would work here's a quick update. As stated before I followed the chart found on Dynabeads to figure out roughly how many oz I would need per tire. With 8.5oz per tire I'm very happy with the ride. Haven't gone faster than 75MPH at this point but from 0-75 it is very smooth no wobble what so ever. So far I would recommend this to anyone. I think it is especially nice for anyone who wheels. I can't count the number of times I chunked or completely knocked off wheel weights and I personally don't like the idea of sticky weights especially for oversized tires.

I've long been intrigued by the beads method of balancing wheel/tire, and it's nice to hear your testament on how well they're faring for you so far. What size BB's did you go with again? And also, can you hear them rattling inside the tires at low speeds?

Thanks for the info., and those black Racelines look BA on your 4Runner especially with the beadlock rings breaking the overall black look of your rig.

I used these I think they are 6mm 0.25g but I really don't think it matters what size you use as long as you have the correct number of oz per tire. I don't here them at low speeds. Only time I hear them is as I'm coming to a complete stop with my windows down and head out the window listening for them. In other words noise is not an issue.

Thanks for the review on the air soft BB's. Yours is the first detailed feedback I've ever read on that method. I'm currently using tape weights applied to the inside surface of the wheel, but as you mentioned that method is not ideal. I get a pretty good balance but it's never perfect, and I won't allow the clamp weights on the wheel edge because it tears up the powdercoat on the wheels... catch 22 on the balance issue.

But... having heard some feedback on the air soft BB's, I think I'll give it a try. They aren't too expensive, so not a big deal if they don't work out. As a side benefit I also see spending less time in the tire shop because instead of a rotation & balance every time, I'd just be looking at rotations.

Dope truck man, subscribed!

So much work done! I can only dream about doing all this! Keep it up bro!:bravo:

Thanks guys!

Glad it's helped you out some in making a decision. Really the only reason I went this route is because of the beadlocks but now that I'm running them I really wish I never would have wasted my time or money having someone balance my tires with conventional wheel weights or sticky weights.

i honestly can't tell the size of those bb's but did you just throw them inside the tire or did you put them in through the valve core like you do with the dynabeads.
