ADH8796 4runner Build

Unreal!

This thing looks mint! I really wish my green truck was black when I see all these nice blacked out rigs.

I've got the addicted front currently sitting in my living room and the quality is great for sure!

Keep it up!

Nice bumper! I like your guys' Humvee. Here's ours that we are looking to replace:

Thanks guys I'm really loving this rig.

Hedgehog I personally think they look cool but other than that ours is slow, clunky and overall overpriced.

Well other than a few little trips down to the local creek bed I haven't really taken this thing out for a good shake down run. Had a few locals wanting to get out and hit up some trials so we headed out to Byrd's adventure center in Cass, AR. The weather was horrible it had rained all night the night before and rained on and off all day the day of. I hate mud but sometimes you just have to deal with it.

Had a great time. The jeep busted up a passenger side door but other than that there was no major damage. So we aired up and came home.

I tried hard to keep the beadlock rings out of the rocks but even so they got a few good scars. I was kind of expecting this so if I can still get a good deal through raceline I may go ahead and switch over to the polished ring so I don't have to worry about rust and touchup after every trip out.

Photoshop by dirtbike250x to give an idea of what It would look like but probably not quite as shinny

It's all coming together now! The bumper setup works great on this rig. I dig the action shots too, they remind me of the ones you posted in your old black rig where you were climbing this big vertical rock wall... the truck was pointed towards picture right, and the shot was taken from above IIRC.

Your wheeling buddy has a nice setup too. Looks like he's running those 35's with no body lift huh? I'd be curious to see a close up of his front fenderwells @ the rear to see how much he cut/pounded.'

I'm glad I could help w/the advice on the 231's, thanks for the shoutout. That's cool that you ended up w/the OEM reman'd calipers versus the new castings.

My guess is you are talking about one of these pics:
Bailey's boulders at Superlift ORV Hotsprings, AR

Disney,OK waterfall

Not sure if either of those were the pics you were referring too but either way here's some video of others on both obstacles just for fun

Bailey's boulders I didn't make it up this one but I also didn't have a front locker in the old 4runner

Disney,OK Waterfall I was able to climb this obstacle in my old 4runner but at the cost of my rear ring gear

And this is the hill obstacle you see from my most recent tip out at Byrd's Adventure center in Cass, AR I didn't make it up this one but I plan to try again when it's dry

My buddy has a small build thread that can be found here 98 4runner build - TTORA Forum

And yes thanks again for your help on the calipers so far I'm very happy with them as I expected I would be.

Last trip out was a blast and it put all my armor through the test. For the most part everything held up great. My Budbuilt took several good shots and held up alright but I'm already looking at idea's of how I can beaf it up. Other than that the bumpers held up great. And my beadlock rings got chewed up in the rocks as I expected they would. So I went ahead and placed an order for some aluminum rings. The more I thought about it the more it made sense to do what I had originally planned to before Raceline sent me wrong rings. It's a huge pain to have to touch up rings after every trip out.

Awesome rig man. I love the 4runners. Do you know Daniel Fox from Siloam Springs Fire station? He and I are great friends. I have a 2001 sr5 and have been looking for bumpers a while. Where did you get yours? I may have missed it in the 7 pages I just read on here. Also, any chance you could build me some of the rock sliders. If so how much? I was stoked to see someone from fayetteville.

Thanks man I really appreciate it. I can't say I know your buddy Daniel I don't make it to Siloam much. I got my bumpers from Addictedoffroad.com call and talk to Scott. I'd consider building some sliders for you but Im not real sure what I'd charge you. I'd have to go back through my cost's and time. I'll think about it and shoot you a PM. You need to come out and go wheeling with us sometime.
