I'm finaly doing the Billies on all 4 corners. I have searched everywhere on this forum, and I need some opinions from those who use the Billies without any spacers. I have a 2010 SR5, 4x4 with 77000 miles and NO ONE has ever ridden in the 2nd row of seats. I don't haul anything heavy in the back, but did tow a 16' aluminum boat (1600 lbs) about 20 times. (sold the boat)
I am deciding on which groove to set the snap ring.
I would like the truck to sit fairly level with just a bit of rake higher in the rear.
Would the 3rd groove from the bottom (1.75") still let the rear end sit a shade higher, or should I be 100% safe and just set the snap ring in the 2nd groove (.85") ?
I do realize that every vehicle is different, but since I never haul much weight in the back, I am thinking that the original rear springs are still fairly firm.
Would it be a good test to measure (while still stock) on a perfectly level surface, from the bottom of each fender well to the center of each hub, and if there is more than a 2" difference from rear to front, then I should be OK with the 1.75" setting ?
Thanks !
